Navigating Everyday Challenging Conversations

This course deals helps you succeed in dealing with difficult situations, people, or perhaps both, by showing you how to engage in “learning conversations”.

Outline

These are conversations where you have taken the courage to speak up and share your perspective and ideas and learn those of your counterpart(s) regardless of the outcome. Easily said, but extremely hard to do, one might note.

Then immerse yourself in Module 1 of the course, titled “The Mind of the Communicator”. At the end of it, you will have learned how to recognize and deflect negative perceptions and use the “ladder of inference” to advance positive communication and understanding.

At the end of Module 2, “Effective Communication in Action”, you will have learned about effective listening, inquiring, and speaking as well as practiced these newly honed skills. Both modules include practical scenarios where you will be called to identify and apply the best solution possible.
